recycling culture

i could write about the last 2 days.
been invited to the napoleons descent in bucharest.thanks bogdana. i can try to summarize the experience. but maybe i'm not going to do that.
a lot of questions popped in my mind while the napoleons napoleoned.
besides their presentations and sometimes stupid questions from the audience i really liked what russell said about blogs and how they teach you skills. i really liked a lot of things i heard. nothing new. besides that planners should learn how to edit a video.
got me thinking about recycling culture. postproduction, creating content and meaning, building trust and being onest and funny, blogs, kids, design and the list can go on.
maybe later i'll come back to this decision and tell you more.

Hi,

still skeptical about blogs. Can you summarize what russel said about blogs and how they teach you skills?
And also share something from your experience as a blogger?
I do understand why having a blog when you want to promote an idea, test an idea and find out opinions, or promote your work as an artist, but also it seems to me that it stops you making bigger things, more important. If you have writing skills you better write a book, then waste time on a blog. Of course, i do understand, new media, bla, bla, reach more people, but still I have doubts. what skills teaches you having a blog?

thanks.

blogs teach you skills.
i'm not a writer and it teaches me to write very few words about pics or news or whatever i post.
russell said something about the intrestingness test.is it intresting enough to put it there?is it not?at the end of the day you're the one who decides what is and what is not ok.
it's a long talk.
and for me sometimes blogs are the alternative media.creating alternative histories.
like if you would have just a newspaper then you have only one story of one event, let's say.but if you have 20 sources of info then you have multiple histories.a bigger picture.
so for me sometimes blogs bring me a different perspective.
sceptical or not you're reading this.so there is a reason why you found this interesting.
i have no idea why.maybe you can tell me.

I'm reading it now. I was searching for napoleons, this is how I got here. But will I read it tomorrow? I don't know. Depends on you partly, but there are factors as well: my time, the number of bloggers I'm in contact with, and so on.

i have no idea whether you or the other readers will read it tom.
and you can't control all the factors.
sometimes i post something that i find really really intresting...and...nobody comments, and sometimes i post something that i don't find that very very intresting...and there are poeple commenting or emailing.
i'm not saying it's random.you just can't control it.
