The Death of Mr. Lazarescu - winner of the World Cinema Award 2007

A panel of judges chose the winner from a shortlist of six films nominated by the UK's leading critics, film-school heads and festival directors.
The other 5 nominated films, four of which are European productions, are: `The beat that my heart skipped` by Jacques Audiard (France), `The child` by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne (Belgium-France), `Hidden` by Michael Haneke (France-Germany-Austria-Italy), `Lady Vengeance` by Park Chan-wook (South Korea) and `Volver` by Pedro Almodovar(Spain).
